Im Still Learning...

I am still learning too, I am reminded of that daily. God always seems to show me something that I need to work on personally. I do not think any person can say honestly and 100% truthfully, there is no aspect in their spiritual walk that does not need improvement. I know there have been times, I would think there is nothing I need to work on personally and I was doing pretty good. Oh how wrong I am, when I think like that. Whenever I do think that, the Lord is quickly there reminding me almost instantly, your struggling here, you need to grow here, or you need to give me more in this area. The list is endless, but it is life. No one is spiritually perfect. Even the greatest preacher, witness or servant of Christ is not fully and completely in the spiritual state of perfection. It is impossible, but it is our job to strive to be like Christ. That needs to be our goal in all our aspirations and lives. We need to be completely sold out and willing to improve in every area of our lives. No matter how secure we think we are. We can always pray more and read our Bible more. Can you imagine what could be accomplished if you just add 5 minutes to your prayer life or reading your Bible 5 extra minutes. The possibilities are endless. We need to learn to die to self daily. I know it is so hard, but God can use us more if we do so.
The Dean of Students at Landmark preached a message encouraging us to go above and beyond our expectations and be more than normal for serving God. He used this illustration and I would like to share it with you and maybe it will open your eyes the way it did mine.

I have a question for you. What happens at 212 F? Water boils, right? Well, at 211 F water does not boil it is hot and almost boiling, but it is not boiling. Many Christians are at this point, they are serving God doing what they should, but are not reaching above the norm. They are content, they are floating in the stream of life, serving, but are not doing their very best for God. 212 Christians go above and beyond the normal Christian. They are sold out for God and are willing to do anything for Christ. They strive to do there very best for God, and hold nothing back. So here is a question to ask yourself. Are you Boiling, are you 212 degrees for Christ, or are you just staying at 211 comfortable and not willing to boil over?

The Lord has shown me some areas this past week where I need to work on spiritually and in my daily life. It is always humbling to know, I am not perfect. So readers, I guess this is my whole point in this post. I am not perfect, I still need improving and I am learning to Walk Worthy too. I am no expert, I am not a professional. I am just a freshman in college striving to do God's will and trying to live according how I should. I am getting as much out of this as you are (I hope) and I am learning too. I hope you will continue to run this race with me, and we can honor the King with our lives.

Hebrew 12:1-2 - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
  • Break is finally here. I plan on posting Preparation for Walking Worthy Part 2, soon. I am have been working on it whenever I have time. Please keep checking in. :) God Bless!

Preparation for Walking Worthy part 1: Salvation

The key for anyone whether you are a man or woman to walking worthy for the King  is your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I hope and pray that you already have a personal relationship with Him. If you do not, I would like to inform you how you can have that relationship with the Savior..

A compass is an important instrument to someone who is not sure which way to go. No matter where you are going, a compass can point you in the right direction. When it comes to spiritual decisions, how do you know which way to go? The Bible is a spiritual compass. You can have confidence that it will point you in the right direction. The Bible is God's inerrant, infallible word. The following verses are given in God's Word to show you how to get to Heaven.

I would like you assure you , you can know for sure that you have eternal life!

“These things have I written unto you... that ye may know that ye have eternal life...”
1 John 5:13 (KJV)
God desires for you to be sure you are going to heaven when you die. Where you spend eternity is the most important decision you will ever make. Having a “wait-and-see” or “cross-your-fingers” attitude is not what God intended. In the Bible, God says you can know that you have eternal life.

The first questions I would like to ask you is this.
If you were to die today, are you 100% sure you would go to Heaven when you die?

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinner.” Romans 5:12 (KJV)
How did you become a sinner? Adam, the first man whom God created, sinned by disobeying God. Everyone born after him was born with a desire to do wrong. The result of sin is death and eternal separation form God in hell. You might say I have never sinned, or I am a good person, I try my best to live right and do what I should. I have one question for you, have you ever told a lie? Stole? Disobeyed your parents? Broke the law? All those things I have just listed is sin. There is no way to get around it. I know I have lied, and disobeyed my parents, I am not proud of it, but it is in our nature to do so.

Do you realize we are all born with a sinful nature, do you realize you are a sinner?
“For the wages of sin is death...” Romans 6:23 (KJV)
Do you know what a wage is? Have you ever worked a job and you get payed daily, weekly or even monthly? A wage is simply what you earned by what you do. In this case, it is your sin. Because of this sin, we are condemned to death.
Have you ever heard of the second death? The second death is a spiritual death, when your soul either goes to Heaven or Hell. If you are not saved, you will spend eternity in hell. You will be separated from God for forever. Forever is never ending, It knows no end.
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8 (KJV)

If you notice the latter part of this verse it says, "...and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone..." Do you remember a little while ago, we came to the common knowledge that you have at one point told a lie, as did I?  How many people do you have to kill to be called a murderer? one. How many times do you have to steal to be called a thief? one time. How many lies do you have to tell to be a liar? one.
Where are you going? Hell? Heaven?
If you are still not sure or you know you are headed to Hell. Don't worry, it does not end there! :)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
Eternal life is not gained by balancing more good works than sins committed. It is a free gift. A gift is voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation. This means eternal life is free.

Have you ever received a present on your birthday? Your friend or parents gave it to you. Did you have to give anything for it, did they make a condition before you received it? Of course not, they gave it freely and willingly. It is a gift. You see God sent His only Son, to die on the cross for your sins on Calvary!!! :)

Do you understand that eternal life cannot be earned.
Jesus Christ died for you sins!

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."                                                                      Romans 5:8 (KJV)

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."                                                                 John 14:6 (KJV)
God proved His love for you by sending His Son Jesus Christ, to die on the cross and pay the penalty for your sin. Jesus died in your place. His death provided the only way to heaven.
Do you understand that Jesus died for you?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."     John 3:16 (KJV)
Some think there are many ways to eternal life (Heaven) or that any belief will lead to it. But the Bible, our spiritual compass, points to Jesus as the only way.
Do you remember a time in your life when you believed on Jesus Christ as your Savior?

You can receive Jesus Christ as your Savior!

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  Romans 10:9 (KJV)
"...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Acts 16:31 (KJV)
Believing is not merely acknowledging that Jesus existed or that He was a good example.
Believing is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. You must have faith that He died for you, paid the price for your sin, and is the only way to heaven. You can express you belief in Jesus through prayer.
Pray Sincerely
... You can say your own personal prayer or pray the one I will provide below. Just saying a prayer does not save you, believing in your heart on Jesus Christ is what saves you. There is no wrong words. God knows you heart. :)

You can pray... "Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that I deserve Hell. I beleive that you died on the cross, paid the penalty for my sin, and rose from the dead three days later. I am placing my faith in you alone to forgive my sin and save me. Thank you for give me eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to comment below. I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions. :)

Hello :)

Hello Everyone,
I guess I should start with thanking you for checking out my blog. I first got the idea of a blog from a friend of mine. I really enjoy reading her posts and they have been a great help and encouragement to me.
This past fall, I started to attend Landmark Baptist College in Haines City, Florida. Landmark requires all freshman girls to take Christian Womanhood their first semester. The theme of the class is 'Walking Worthy'. (this is where I got the idea of the title and theme of the blog) The class is teaching and equipping us girls for the ministry and our daily lives. At the end of the semester, we are required to turn in a notebook compiled of notes taken in class. These notebooks will help us to be equipped for the ministry, in whatever area the Lord has led us to serve Him in
I personally have felt the Lord's leading to work with the youth, in whatever way He leads. Whether, in a teen department or simply in Sunday school. I am willing. I am prayfully hoping these posts will be a help and encouragment for you in your daily walk with the Lord. So we can truly Walk Worthy For The King.
"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all peaseing, being fruitful in every good  work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;"  Colossians 1:10
In Christ,
Julie
